Effie Row

Build What You Love

October 16, 2019

An Effie Row Reunion

Twenty-one. It’s been nearly 21 months since I last hit the “publish” button on a blog post. And while I haven’t exactly been keeping track, it’s been about 20.5 months of thinking to myself *I really need to be better about updating Effie Row!*

The more time that has gone by, the more daunting updating has become. Why? Because life and building what we love hasn’t slowed down much at all. Getting back into blogging is kind of like reuniting with a long lost friend – where do you even begin to catch up?

So why now? Well for starters, I told myself I would. Actually I’ve been telling myself (and Eric) that I was going to commit more to blogging and to Effie Row for a while now. And I think the independent, do-whatever-the-%&$#-you-want side of me finally got fed up with the lazy, wait-for-the-perfect-time side.

I love building and I love creating. I also love sharing our experiences along the way so that others can learn from them.

There are so many projects and life happenings to get caught up on. I’m not saying we couldn’t have done more in the last twenty-ish months, but, looking back at all the pictures gives me a sense of accomplishment and motivation to continue building what we love.

So while I am searching for every progress photo I can find, racking my brain on the order in which we did things, and pounding on the keyboard, please enjoy the following “sneak peek” pictures of what we have been up to…

  • Mid century media cabinet
  • DIY grouted vinyl tile floors with a custom design
  • Faux concrete bathroom counters for the long haul
  • Gender neutral nursery - light and colorful
  • Blue slate tiled floors - stripping and refinishing
  • Faux wood paneling be gone!
  • Ikea Hemnes shoe cabinet for a small budget friendly guestroom
  • Guest room makeover on a budget - transplanting carpet
  • Goodbye faux wood paneling! A mid century entry way redo!
Spread the love
